On March 6, 2016, Lane College celebrated its 2nd annual Founder’s Day Scholarship Dinner and Gala. The event was held on the campus of Lane College in the gymnasium which was transformed into an elegant setting which included fresh flowers, trees, chandeliers and formal place setting. Attendees were greeted and escorted to their tables by students of the college.

This semi-formal event is in observance of the 134th year of existence of the college and the birthday of the founder of Lane College, Bishop Isaac Lane. This event paid a tribute to the success and longevity of this historical black college. Included were student testimonies; musical guest, Soul Fruit from Houston, Texas; and speaker Judge Joe Brown. This sold-out gala was well received and attended by alumni, students, faculty and friends of Lane College. The event was a success and a good addition to the Lane College Scholarship Fund.
