The 19th Annual Scholarship Banquet was held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center and as guests came into the dining area they were serenaded by David McClune and the Union Jazz Band and singers Kelsie Edgren and Cameron Skonhovd.

Earlier that day Rumsfeld met with a dozen or so honor students in the President’s conference room. An extremely personable 84-year-old Donald Rumsfeld fielded questions from these students and stressed the need for quality future leaders. He cautioned about the strife currently occurring but warned that minute ripples happening worldwide are the real identifiers of future troubles in the world.

Donald Rumsfeld has been a key advisor to five Presidents of America, founder of the Rumsfeld Foundation offering fellowships to post grad studies and micro enterprises. He is CEO of two corporations and has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Ronald Reagan Freedom Award.
