The Jackson-Madison County Library Foundation held its 7th Annual Books of Madison County event on August 24 at the Jackson Fairgrounds.

Many community members came out to support the library at the event that has grown consistently each year. Attendees enjoyed a catered dinner, entertainment and a silent auction.

The event’s keynote speaker was Emily St. John Mandel, an award-winning author of four novels. Her most recent novel, “Station Eleven,” is the Library’s “Big Read” novel, thanks to the National Endowment of the Arts Big Read Grant.

The Library Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for the long-term development of the library as it continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community. Funds raised at this event will be used to make improvements in library programming and equipment.
